When I tried what ahmet said above, the icon shows up. After I posted this message, I realized I did not chose the correct option for this software in "Show Hidden Icons". If not, I'd just re-install the application, and then do the step above.
However thanks to the grace of God, the missing icon appeared again just as mysteriously as it had vanished.
